Limestone Pool Fountain Pillar with Carved Ogee Panel
A close study of a reclaimed limestone pool fountain pillar, shot tight enough to read the stone. The face carries a sunken ogee arched panel with a double moulded border, and a short iron spout projects from a carved roundel at its centre, flanked by two scrolled iron brackets. Above, a stepped cornice carries a large ball finial. The surface is crusted, flaking and stained grey green with a long rust run below the spout. The rim of its octagonal pool is just visible. Suited to a courtyard pool, poolside terrace or architectural restoration.
