Monumental Limestone Pool Fountain with Lion Mascarons

The most architectural piece in the collection. A faceted limestone pier rises from a curved pool wall, carrying two carved lion head mascarons that spout from open mouths. Above them a frieze of foliate scrolls runs under a heavy canted cornice, and a carved urn with draped swags crowns the whole pier. Below the lions, winged consoles and hanging festoons step the pier down to a splayed plinth. The stone is dense and golden grey, its carving blunted by long weathering. Made for an estate pool, grand courtyard pool or resort project.
